The plot is set in motion when a man named John Scott Eccles requests the help of the brilliant consulting detective Sherlock Holmes. Eccles spent the night at Wisteria Lodge, the Surrey home of Mr. Aloysius Garcia. Eccles woke up in the morning to find that Garcia and his two servants had vanished.
